Trijam 148 - Firefly
FireFly
Love is in the air, but life as a firefly ain't easy! It is this time of year when the fireflies are going to find their love mates; In a cozy cave, you make it your mission to find as many love mates as you possibly can; but enemy fireflies are also on the hunt! Thank god you got an incredible superpower: The SUPER POTENT GLOW - which makes you extremely attractive for the female fireflies; but the GLOW also allows enemy fireflies to destroy you!
Instructions and tipps
WASD to move, SPACE to activate glow; glow is active for 2 seconds and allows you to collide with blue female fireflies and gain lovepoints; it also makes you vulnerable for red enemy fireflies to kill you; choose wisely when to activate the GLOW;
tip: While no GLOW is active, you are invincible and can move around blue and red fireflies - that may help you to move to a better position; don't take too long as there will be more and more enemies who will continue to eat up your blue female fireflies!

Install instructions
I'd recommend downloading the game (download and run the exe file) over the web-version; I got lazy and didn't want to fix the UI for the web-version apologies :D

Simple but fun enough, I got to 11 at best
Nice little game, I managed to get 21!
Thanks :) Will you submit as well for this trijam? Would be nice to see more games from you :)
Yeah, I will be submitting a game for this one :) Thanks for the motivation!
I found a partner this week who is working on art assets for our game so it will be interesting to see how that collaboration goes. They have produced some really nice art so far. We have a pretty large time difference though so the feedback loop is not great so far.
I usually do three 1 hour sessions over the course of the weekend. I finished the first session and am waiting to hear back from my team mate before continuing.
If you’re interested in watching our progress, I streamed the first hour session here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xRa420ARifk&t=207s
Oh nice! I will definitely have a look at the youtube video; maybe we can team up at some point (happy to do some simple art) :) Best of luck for the further development of the jam game!
